Booking Terms
Last updated: October 16, 2026
These terms apply to every trek booked on huayhuashcircuit.com. Together with the trek page you book, the Cancellation Policy and the Trek Participation Agreement you sign when you book, they form your agreement with us. By paying your deposit, you accept them.
1. Who we are and our role
- huayhuashcircuit.com is operated by Turisteando, a brand of Gazela Network, S.A., a company incorporated in Guatemala ("we", "us"). Contact: info@turisteando.net or WhatsApp +51 926 445 634.
- We act as a booking agent for local operators. Not every operator can work with us: we study the market, select the best local operators in Huaraz, and agree every trek with them directly and in person, together with the communities whose land the circuit crosses.
- Your trek is provided by an independent local operator (the "Local Operator"), with its own guides, cooks, muleteers and pack animals. The Local Operator is responsible for the services it provides and for the licenses Peruvian law requires of it. It is not our employee or agent.
- We arrange your booking, collect your payments on behalf of the Local Operator, look after you before and after the trek, and help you if something goes wrong.
2. Your booking
- Your booking is confirmed when your deposit is paid through our payment platform (WeTravel) and you sign the Trek Participation Agreement during checkout.
- Your agreement is made of: these Booking Terms, the trek page you booked (itinerary, inclusions, exclusions and "Requirements & restrictions"), the Cancellation Policy and the Trek Participation Agreement. If the signed agreement and these terms conflict, the signed agreement prevails.
- Each traveler must meet the requirements of the trek and sign the agreement personally. A parent or legal guardian signs for a minor (minimum age 12) and travels with them.
3. Prices and payments
- Prices are per person, in US dollars, and are the ones published on each trek page when you book.
- You pay a deposit (USD 75, 100 or 150, depending on the trek) to book, and the balance in 3 installments charged automatically to your card 42, 28 and 14 days before departure. If you book later, installments already due are charged at booking.
- Card and transaction fees from the payment platform are added at checkout and are never refundable.
- Community entrance fees are not included: you pay them in cash (soles) on the trail.
4. Cancellations and changes
Cancellations, date changes, refunds and changes made by us or caused by force majeure follow our Cancellation, Rescheduling & Refund Policy. In short: cancel 30 calendar days or more before departure for a 100% refund, minus card fees; with less than 30 days, there is no refund.
5. Trek Participation Agreement
Trekking in the Cordillera Huayhuash means several days above 4,000 m, far from roads and hospitals. That is why, when you book, you sign a Trek Participation Agreement in which you:
- declare that you are fit for the trek and disclose any medical condition;
- accept the risks of high-altitude trekking in a remote area;
- agree to hold travel insurance with medical, rescue and evacuation cover;
- agree to pay any rescue, evacuation or medical cost you need, including the help of the local communities;
- release the Local Operator and us from liability, except for gross negligence or willful misconduct;
- accept the guide's decisions on safety.
You can read the full agreement before booking: Trek Participation Agreement (PDF).
6. Our responsibility
- As booking agent, we are responsible for arranging your booking correctly and for choosing Local Operators with care. We are not responsible for the acts, omissions or negligence of the Local Operator, the communities, transport companies or other independent suppliers, nor for injury, illness, death, loss or damage caused by them, except as required by applicable law.
- If we are found liable, our total liability is limited to the price you paid for the trek, and we are not liable for indirect losses such as missed flights or lost earnings.
- None of this limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct, or any right that the law does not allow to be excluded.
- We are not responsible for flights, buses, hotels or any service you book yourself.
7. Personal data and photos
- We share your name, passport details, emergency contact, diet and medical information with the Local Operator, and with rescuers and medical providers in an emergency, only to deliver your trek and protect your safety.
- Group photos and videos may be used to promote the treks. If you prefer not to appear, tell us at info@turisteando.net before departure.
8. Complaints and payment disputes
- Tell the guide about any problem during the trek, so it can be fixed on the spot. Send any complaint to info@turisteando.net within 7 days after the trek; we reply within 3 business days.
- By booking, you agree to contact us and give us the chance to resolve any issue before opening a dispute or chargeback with your bank. If one is opened, we may share your signed agreement, your booking details and our messages with the payment processor and your bank.
9. Governing law and disputes
These terms and your booking are governed by the laws of Guatemala. Any dispute will first be discussed in good faith for 30 days and, if it is not resolved, submitted to the courts of Guatemala City, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer rights you have under the law of the country where you live.
10. General
- If any part of these terms is found invalid, the rest remains in force.
- We may update these terms. Changes apply only to bookings made after they are published.
- These terms are written in English, Spanish and Portuguese; if the versions differ, the English version prevails.
